Assembler – Electro‑Mechanical / Electronic Assembly

What You’ll Do

• Electro‑Mechanical Assembly — Build electrical enclosures, cables, wire harnesses, and subassemblies using crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, and other hand tools.
• Technical Documentation — Read and follow production instructions, drawings, wire lists, schematics, and blueprints.
• Point‑to‑Point Wiring — Install wiring and equipment with clean cable routing and proper grooming techniques.
• Testing & Troubleshooting — Test wiring, cables, and assemblies; identify issues and make corrections.
• Software/Firmware Loading — Update and verify software/firmware on equipment when needed.
• Equipment Configuration — Configure processing, storage, and networking hardware according to specifications.
• Soldering — Perform soldering tasks following industry standards.
• Safety & Documentation — Maintain a clean workspace, follow safety procedures, and complete production/quality forms accurately.
• Material Handling — Support logistics and material movement for assembly operations.
• Cross‑Team Support — Assist with assembly or repair tasks across product lines as needed.

What You Need

• 2+ years of assembly experience (electrical, electro‑mechanical, cable/harness, or related).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wire lists, and diagrams .
• Hands‑on experience with crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters , and basic hand tools.
• Skills in electrical wiring, soldering, testing, and troubleshooting .
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (company will assist if required).

⭐ Preferred (Not Required)

• Electronics coursework or training.
• Experience with electronic components or fiber optics.
• Experience loading software/firmware.
• Familiarity with WHMA/IPC‑A‑620, IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑J‑STD‑001 standards.
• Material handling or logistics experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
