Underground Electric Terminators - Construction

Following a series of new contract wins in Virginia, they are seeking a Underground Electric Terminator to join their expanding team and help ensure the continued reliability and performance of their network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Perform underground secondary cable work safely, including installation, maintenance, and repairs on both live and non-energized systems
- Take charge of the crew and act as representative when the foreman is unavailable
- Maintain a solid understanding of all elements involved in underground power distribution
- Recognize and differentiate between primary and secondary voltages
- Qualified to splice cables with voltages up to 600 volts
- Knowledgeable in proper grounding techniques
- Familiar with confined space safety protocols
- Correctly apply and remove personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective cover-up materials
- Understand the layout and function of underground utility services
- Experienced in underground electrical switching methods
- Carry out additional duties as needed to support job completion
Requirements:
- Over 3 years of proven experience terminating underground secondary cables
- Skilled in reading and interpreting underground utility locate markings
- Familiar with tools and equipment used for cable terminations
- Able to terminate a range of secondary cable sizes
- Experienced in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in underground circuits
- Capable of identifying unexpected hazards that could impact safety or progress
- Valid driver’s license required

Salary:
- Competitive pay rate: $22 - $35 per hour
