Product Owner (Remote - Virginia)

We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the delivery of high-value software products and features, supporting initiatives to modernize complex systems. In this role, you will guide agile teams through backlog management, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at multiple levels, facilitating requirements clarification, sprint planning, and iterative reviews. This position offers the opportunity to influence both product direction and business outcomes while working in a structured, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. A strong understanding of SAFe Agile methodologies and exceptional communication skills are essential for success.
Accountabilities
· Define, prioritize, and manage the team product backlog to ensure maximum business value.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, initiatives, features, and user stories.
· Lead user story development, including refinement of acceptance criteria.
· Coordinate sprint planning and prioritize functionality to deliver on business goals.
· Support program-level roadmap development and facilitate backlog refinement sessions.
· Present business value and product updates during system demos and iteration reviews.
· Coordinate efforts across teams to manage dependencies and ensure seamless delivery.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project outcomes.
· 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager with agile software teams.
· Proven expertise in SAFe Agile methodologies for delivering business systems and applications.
· Experience collaborating effectively with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
· In-depth knowledge of Agile processes, principles, and best practices.
· Strong presentation, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to work East Coast hours.
· Bachelor’s degree or higher.
· Preferred: SAFe® Product Manager/Product Owner certification and experience with ServiceNow implementation projects.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance and U.S. Citizenship is required.
