Our work depends on a Data/Quality Analyst joining our team and utilizing their data analytic experience to analyze patient safety data and develop reports and trends that will help ensure readiness and operational quality and safety for the Fleet and Marines.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Provide overall, multifaceted support to the Navy Medicine's Quality Lead to include knowledge of Joint Commission standards, Infection Control and other quality measures.
  • Review raw and synthesized data (HEDIS, ORYX, TJC, NPIC, NSQIP, AHRQ Measures, Carepoint, KSA, Mortality data etc.) to create specialized data analysis reports as it affects readiness and operational quality and safety for the Fleet and Marines, with an emphasis on trending and benchmark performance evaluation.
  • Assist with increasing awareness of regulatory and joint commission compliance requirements for healthcare quality and safety in our operational settings.
  • Develop and update Excel databases and dashboards; perform ad hoc pivot table queries.
  • Track and trend data from multiple sources as needed.
  • Perform data gap analyses and provide recommendations for designated projects.
  • Analyze documents, measures and data slides for quarterly Navy Medicine Strategic Goal Updates.
  • Analyze administrative data to develop methodologies and approaches for analytic activities such as clinical improvement chart audits and coding performance assessments. Understanding of the data definitions and how the data is calculated and the impact of changes in thresholds or definition changes on the data trends.
  • Analyze date in the following databases: Patient Safety Reporting (PSR) System, The American College of Surgeons: National Surgical Quality Improvement Project, Population Health Portal (PHP) and PHP-Patient Safety Indicator, The Joint Commission ( TJC survey and Joint commission resources- Tracers amp module), team training resources and other DoD/Navy databases.
  • Create and edit PowerPoint presentations- forms creation as needed
  • Attend and support regularly scheduled meetings and conference calls, to include the DHA Clinical Measures Working Group, TIG, NSQIP, PSIC, and the Clinical Communities Calls. Summarize key findings and recommendations from the meetings.
  • Participate in meetings on quality and safety topics and relevant BUMED meetings as needed.
  • Maintain and update MilSuite sites for quality data storage.
  • Effectively communicate and interface with BUMED Leadership and Operational leadership as needed.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education : Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field
  • Required Experience : 2+ years of related work experience
  • Required Technical Skills : Experience with large data software systems such as Tableau or Power BI; Exhibit data trend analysis knowledge and experience; Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology; be able to develop presentations, reports and dashboards
  • Security Clearance Level : NACLC (T3) or Secret Clearance`
  • Required Skills and Abilities : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred Experience : 5 years related work experience; Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Location : On-site 100% at Falls Church, VA location; no travel required
  • US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
