CDL A Ready-Mix Concrete Driver

Job Summary

The Concrete Mixer Driver safely operates a concrete mixer truck to transport and deliver ready-mix concrete to customer job sites. This role requires strong safety awareness, professional customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in construction environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safely operate concrete mixer trucks to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.

• Complete routine maintenance such as fueling and checking fluids, tires, and lights.

• Clean mixer drum and equipment between loads.

• Inspect concrete mix consistency during transport.

• Provide accurate delivery documentation and return signed tickets.

• Communicate effectively with dispatch, coworkers, and customers.

• Navigate job sites safely and use proper judgment around obstacles.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record

• Clean driving record and current DOT qualification.

• Minimum 1 year of concrete mixer or commercial driving experience preferred.

• Construction background is required — experience working on or around active construction sites, understanding of site safety procedures, and ability to operate in rough terrain.

• Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, lifting chutes, and using tools for cleaning and maintenance.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

• Commitment to following safety procedures, DOT regulations, and company policies.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

• Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, and movement around heavy equipment.

• Early morning shifts, potential weekend work, and overtime as needed.

You should be proficient in:

• DOT Medical Card
• Hazardous Materials
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
• Current CDL License
