The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is seeking a project management professional to guide committees through the content development process, abiding by all ANSI rules.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting standards committees in successfully meeting their goals
- Coordinating and participating in frequent committee meetings
- Facilitating standards content creation, quality control, and schedule
- Creating internal cross-divisional teams for each standard
- Working to move ballots forward with exacting adherence to ANSI requirements
- Contributing to research on market needs, trends, and ancillary products development
- Developing contacts with government agencies, affiliated organizations, and vendors
- Working with grants office on public and private sector RFP's
- Posting web content about resources, procedures, rules, ballots, etc.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, governmental studies, engineering, or related field, or comparable experience
- Two or more years of experience in project management (association experience desirable)
- General working knowledge across multiple specialty areas of engineering
- Working knowledge of ANSI rules and processes, and of standards development
- Intermediate proficiency with association databases, web-based applications, spreadsheets, other Microsoft applications, and software manipulation i.e., outline templates, formatting documents, and creating formulas
- Adeptness at developing and maintaining strong relationships with volunteers in standards development
