Psychiatrist - Inpatient - Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia

Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are seeking a full time Inpatient Psychiatrist at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. We are proud of the 13 accredited residency programs, psychiatry being one. In addition, Carilion Clinic has 16 accredited fellowships, two of which are based in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine: Addiction Medicine and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. As a member of the Carilion Clinic Medical team, our faculty are invited to participate in research projects and contribute meaningfully to evidence-based practice. We are specifically recruiting a full time inpatient provider, who will become a member of a four provider inpatient team. This position will oversee clinical leadership of a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatric residents and medical students providing quality psychiatric care to an acute, adult inpatient population. The typical case load is 10-12 patients daily with an average length of stay of 5-7 days. The position includes an academic appointment at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Requirements:

• Degree from an accredited medical school
• ABPN board certification or eligibility
• Successful completion of accredited residency in Psychiatry
• Skilled in interpersonal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients and families.
