Staff Accountant

Lawelawe Management Group is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our finance operations. T his role is key in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing reliable reporting that supports business decision-making.

This is a consulting opportunity. Work is structured around specific client projects, with assignments that may range from short-term surge support to longer-term initiatives, depending on client requirements and needs.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
• Support yearly audit preparation and financial management reports
• Verify documentation, postings, and reconcile payroll to the general ledger
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations and advise management on new requirements
• Keep management informed of financial status and developments

What We’re Looking For

• Professional experience in accounting or finance (public or corporate)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint a plus)
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• US Citizenship required
