Physical Therapist Assistant Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Rehab Therapy Clinic
• Location: Hampton, Virginia 23666
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 4, 2025
• End Date: November 2, 2025
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1580 - $1620 per week

PTA Qualifications

• Active Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license (PTA license; Compact accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PTA experience, including at least 1 year in outpatient rehab therapy
• At least 1 year of travel healthcare assignment experience
• Ability to provide 2 professional references in physical therapy specialty within the last 2 years
• Flu shot required (smoke-free hospital environment)
• Cannot have worked at any Sentara healthcare site within the past year (6-month break required before returning)

Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services to patients in an outpatient rehab clinic
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Monitor patient progress and accurately document clinical outcomes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and recovery strategies
