The Associate Experience Technology team connects users in the Capital One enterprise with simple to use, digitally enriched experiences that are designed to maximize associate productivity. Our teams uncover old, archaic processes and identify Associate pain-points caused by outdated technology - and then we design, develop, and implement new ways of doing things that alleviate users’ headaches and wasted time. We are seeking Email Platform Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for our associates

• Utilize programming languages like NodeJS, Python, and SQL, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

• At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with email routing and security including SMTP and DMARC

• 2+ years of experience working with Proofpoint

• 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes

• 2+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, JavaScript, Bash)

• 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Senior Platform Engineer

Plano, TX: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer

Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
