Advanced Systems Engineer (Navy/NAVSEA Experience)

Job Summary :

The Advanced Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership and systems engineering expertise for projects supporting the U.S. Navy and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), with a focus on Undersea Warfare Decision Support System (USW-DSS) products and their interfacing systems. The role includes the design, integration, testing, and deployment of complex systems for naval platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with NAVSEA programs, deep knowledge of USW-DSS systems, and hands-on experience in interfacing and installing these systems within Navy operational environments. This is a 3 month contract to hire.

• Systems Engineering and Integration :
• Lead the design, development, and integration of USW-DSS systems with naval platforms and interfacing systems, ensuring functionality and operational performance.
• Conduct detailed systems engineering analysis and design, including requirements decomposition, interface design, and system validation.
• Technical Leadership :
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, including junior engineers, ensuring projects meet technical objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Support the development and execution of systems engineering plans, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and NAVSEA standards.
• Installation and Testing :
• Oversee the installation and fielding of USW-DSS products on Navy platforms, ensuring all technical specifications and installation procedures are met.
• Lead testing and evaluation activities, including system validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with Navy and NAVSEA standards.
• Customer and Stakeholder Interaction :
• Interface directly with NAVSEA, Navy program offices, and other stakeholders to communicate technical status, challenges, and solutions.
• Participate in technical reviews, briefings, and discussions to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.
• System Integration Support :
• Provide on-site and remote technical support during system installation, testing, and maintenance phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during system integration and deployment phases, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful system operation.
• Documentation and Reporting :
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive systems engineering documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), system design documents, and test plans.
• Prepare regular status reports, briefings, and presentations for internal teams and Navy customers.

$55 - $70 an hour
