Software Engineer - C++

The Team:
Verisign’s “ATLAS” platform implementation team is a high performing, agile team who builds horizontally scalable, high performance, and highly available systems. As part of the team, you will be involved in designing and implementing new capabilities for this platform, and also in deployment using CI/CD principles. You will be working with the software that fundamentally enables the internet to operate at scale.
The Person:
We’re looking for a mid-level software engineer who demonstrate:

Required Skills:
- Has solid understanding of writing software in C++ or similar system-level programming language
- Python or similar scripting language
- Proven foundation in Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, object-oriented design)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Ansible)
- Proficient with Linux
- Outstanding problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent teammate who enjoys a collaborative team environment
Relevant Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development
- 2+ years of C++ or similar system-level programming language
- Working on an Agile software development team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
Bonus Skills:
- Hands on experience with the Rust programming language
- Familiarity with DNS at the protocol level
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
The pay range is $108,900 - $147,300.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
