Manager, Accounting

Accounting Manager Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time | In-Office (5 days/week)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join a fast-growing, PE-backed organization preparing for IPO. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting and leadership experience, particularly those coming from public accounting or high-growth corporate environments. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations (bank, credit card, balance sheet, etc.).
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
• Identify and address gaps in general ledger functions and implement improvements.
• Lead preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Manage sales and use tax compliance and filings.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors, including partnership tax matters.
• Mentor and supervise accounting staff, fostering professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a respected institution.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in a high-growth, PE-backed environment preferred.
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
