Location: 7422 Deer Branch Rd., North Roanoke County

We're searching for candidates who are self-starters, punctual, and fully engaged. ✅

As a well-established Christian daycare, we provide high-quality childcare with a Bible-based, spiritually enriching curriculum across all age groups.

What You’ll Do:

⏰ Work Monday - Friday between the hours of 2:30pm-6:15pm

‍ Consistently work in our front office, with a set schedule, and occasionally sub when needed

Greet families, direct phone calls, accept payments, and close the center.

Create a positive and nurturing environment for the families we serve.

Engage with parents professionally about their child’s enrollment.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children (especially under 5)

Ability to stay calm, patient, and positive

Superb written and verbal communication skills

A genuine love for children and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives

Computer knowledge using web-based applications as well as Microsoft Office.

Shifts & Compensation:

Consistently work Monday-Friday

Pay: $13.00 - $14.50/hour

Life Academy in Roanoke, VA is looking for an administrative assistant to work the Front Desk every afternoon at our very busy childcare center. We are located on 7422 Deer Branch Rd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and reliable. Hours will be Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm with extra hours available as a substitute teacher if able. Experience in customer service, ability to operate a computer with basic software/websites, and phone etiquette is a must.

Responsibilities

• Greet parents upon arrival to pick up their children
• Receive and direct phone calls, answering most requests without assistance
• Make copies, use Microsoft Office, receive payments, write receipts, file paperwork, and other office duties
• Use phone and intercom systems
• Other assistant-type duties to the directors as assigned

Qualifications

• Organizational and people skills
• Comfortable working and communicating closely with young children
• Born-again Christian
• Able to stand, bend, sit, lift up to 40lbs.

Life Academy is a Christian childcare center in operation for 38 years. Our staff of 40 teachers and support staff engage, educate, and encourage our 150 students Monday-Friday 7am-6pm year round.
