Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate must bring strong hands‑on Jira Cloud migration experience to architect and govern an enterprise‑grade Jira platform .

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Lead the end‑to‑end architecture, design, and target-state strategy for Jira Cloud, establishing standards for configuration, workflows, permissions, and governance.

• Oversee and execute complex Jira Server/Data Center to Jira Cloud migration efforts, including discovery, readiness assessments, migration waves, and post‑migration validation.

• Architect and implement integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CI/CD, ITSM, identity providers) and design scalable automation solutions using Jira Automation and APIs.

• Ensure platform security and compliance by implementing RBAC, supporting SSO/identity integrations, and aligning with enterprise policies for audit logging, retention, and access reviews.

• Optimize Jira performance and reliability by defining monitoring, incident response processes, and operational support models for ongoing platform operations.

• Provide technical leadership for platform upgrades, app lifecycle management, configuration governance, and coordination with Atlassian and third‑party vendors.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).

• 10+ years of experience in Jira administration, Jira architecture, or Atlassian platform leadership within enterprise environments.

• Proven hands‑on experience leading complex Jira Cloud migrations, including multi‑instance, highly customized, or regulated environments.

• Deep expertise in Jira platform architecture, including workflows, schemes, permissions, automation, integrations, and governance best practices .

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
