REQUIRED PROCEDURES

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License

• Board: BC in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• DEA: Active DEA with VA address and applicable schedules

• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not BC in EM or EM trained

• Certifications: NRP required for non-ABEM providers

• Experience: EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered

• Experience: 3-month proctorship required for new graduates

• Other Qualifications: Graduate of accredited MD or DO program

• Other Qualifications: Completion of ACGME/AOA approved residency in EM, FM, or IM

• Other Qualifications: ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates

• Other Qualifications: Academic Medical Center experience preferred

• Other Qualifications: Case logs required for the last two years

• Other Qualifications: Required to supervise NP and PA providers

• Other Qualifications: Telehealth experience not required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide critical care coverage for scheduled clinical shifts

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in the hospital setting

• Supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants

• Collaborate with mid-level providers and clinical staff

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
