Engineering Technician IV
- Assists with designing, developing, and constructing major units, devices, or equipment; conducting tests or experiments; analyzing results and redesigns: or modifying equipment to improve performance and by subsequently reporting the results.
- Assists with developing difficult designs for equipment such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry given general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), but without access to critical performance requirements. Assists with analyzing technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selecting from several possible design layouts; calculating design data; and preparing layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
- Assists with planning tests to evaluate equipment performance; determining test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducting tests using all types of instruments; analyzing and evaluating test results; and preparing reports on findings and recommendations.
