We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud platforms supporting enterprise workloads, including SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) . This role is critical to enabling modern application development, continuous delivery, and operational excellence across cloud-native and SAP-integrated environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep experience in AWS infrastructure , infrastructure as code , container platforms , and automation , combined with the ability to operate in regulated, mission-critical environments.
The NS2 Intel DevOps Engineer candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of standalone implementations of SAP Products and solutions that meet our client’s complex needs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure and services, infrastructure as code, container platforms, and automation. They possess strong knowledge of cloud-based systems and associated security principles, enabling them to operate effectively with minimal supervision in complex, regulated, and mission-critical cloud environments. This is a full-time position, and due to security requirements is on-site only in Chantilly, VA.
Skills/Experience Requirements
- Cloud Platforms
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing, IAM, EC2, storage, load balancers).
- Infrastructure as Code
- Strong experience with Terraform (modules, state management, versioning, CI integration).
- Programming & Scripting
- Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, and operational workflows.
- Source Control & CI/CD
- GitHub, Git workflows, pull requests, and automated pipelines.
- Containers & Orchestration
- Hands-on experience with Docker/containerization and Kubernetes (deployments, services, ingress, scaling, upgrades).
- Cloud Orchestration & Automation
- Automating provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud resources.
- Patch & Configuration Management
- Implementing automated patching strategies and maintaining secure, compliant system baselines.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux/Ubuntu (various distributions) and demonstrated strong UNIX Shell scripting knowledge.
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a required DoD 8570 certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.
Desired Experience And Skills
- Supporting SAP BTP environments, services, or integrations.
- Familiarity with SAP cloud runtimes, connectivity services, and platform operations.
- Enabling DevOps practices for SAP and enterprise application teams.
- Understanding of operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., security baselines, audit readiness, change management).
- Monitoring and logging tools commonly used in enterprise cloud environments.
- Developing and deploying applications in Docker container.
- Managing Kubernetes to deploy secure workloads.
- Detailed understanding of Cloud Foundry architecture and development methodology.
- Strong collaboration skills with other members of the technical team.
- Relevant cloud provider certifications
- Proven strong system administration experience.
Additional Requirements
- BA/BS Degree is required. Ideally in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology. MA/MS Preferred.

Compensation Range Transparency : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 131000 - 271600(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
