Systems Administrator
We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Systems Administrator to join a leading Company located in theQuantico, VA surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.**
**Candidate must possess an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.**
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, install, and maintain computer systems, including physical and virtual servers, storage area networks and network-attached storage onfive enclaves.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware.
- Troubleshoot Domain Controllers.
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, as well as troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Develop and maintain schedules and plans for system updates and patching.
- Create accounts and groups in Active Directory and create and modify Group Policy Objects.
- Report on system uptime and SLA performance.
- Audit server utilization.
- Assist in building, coordinating, maintaining, changing, and updating,the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for the five enclaves administered by AFOSI.
- Ensure that all application deliverables and systems comply with applicable DISA STIGs or Security Requirements Guidance.
- Identify and report system risks.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- 3 years of experience in systems administration in a Windows-based environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field desired.
- Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements). Microsoft certificationa plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques.
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022; MS SQL Server 2016 and 2019; and VMWare ESXi, vCenter, andvSAN, and Horizon.
- Experience administering servers in a virtualized production environment using VMWare vSphere 7.x or 8.x technology.
- Experience with PowerShell for command line and scripting to include scripting for account management, patch deployment, software inventory, service control, and/or object attribute modification.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with Microsoft Windows.
- Experience with rack-mounted or blade server hardware.
- Experience with Active Directory toinclude creating accounts and groups and navigating a domain tree
- Experience creating and modifying Group Policy Objects.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS functions.
- Knowledge of DHCP server functionality.
- Experience in troubleshooting Domain Controllers and familiarity with replication issues.
- Experience with a trouble ticket system such as Remedy or ServiceNow.
- Experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Experience with a backup solution, hands-on experience with backup and restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Must have experience with RMF and applying STIGs.
- Working knowledge of IT Systems Maintenance Compliance processes toincludeinformation assurance vulnerability management (IAVM).
- Experience creating, reviewing, and revising security documentation and artifacts.
- Strongunderstanding of network fundamentals includingTCP/IP and sub-nets desired.
- Experience with Storage Area Networks desired.
- Experience with DoD IT environment and networks.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.
- Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
