AWS Systems Engineer (TS Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Devops Engineer to work on an AWS systems team. The qualified candidate must have an active TS security clearance, and will work hand-in-hand with technical and program management leadership to implement the next generation desktop and web based production and dissemination system. This position will require experience standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in a cloud environments, and the deployment and maintenance of custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead systems administration and DevOps activities
• Support development and delivery of systems for analytics, exploitation, production, and dissemination
• Utilize web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies
• Build and configure Windows instances
• Perform deployments across development, test, and operational environments
• Apply system patches and perform maintenance
• Troubleshoot technical issues
• Collaborate with internal development teams, external partners, and enterprise components

Required Skills/Experience:

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI post hire
• BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
• DoD 8570 compliance
• Experience with cloud/Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
• System design and architecture skills
• Understanding of custom code development and reviews
• Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflow
• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with GITLAB functionality, error codes, and scripting
• Experience with RedHat OpenShift
• Experience developing web apps with Python
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies
• Experience using AWS services/technologies such as CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS
• Experience with AWS Serverless architectures (Lambda, API gateway, load balancing, autoscaling)
• Experience writing, maintaining, and describing architecture diagrams
• Familiarity with team collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, RocketChat
• Relevant Microsoft and/or AWS certifications
