We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Finance team onsite at our corporate headquarters at One Loudoun in Ashburn, Virginia. In this position, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Job Description
Work directly with the Accounting Manager, performing the following duties:
- Maintain customer contact information in AR System to sure Invoices and Statements are automatically sent to customer.
- Work with customers via email or over the phone to resolve outstanding invoices.
- Maintain automatic email process for invoices daily and statements monthly
- Process mail and interoffice communications
- Provide back-up support for daily deposit process.
- Process daily cash applications (Check, Wire, ACH, Credit Card Payment)
- Prepares daily summary of payments entered
- Answer the phones, direct calls, and respond to email inquiries
- Basic clerical duties and support of the Accounts Receivable department
- Assist the Accounting department with special projects as needed
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
PROFICIENCY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point software programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must have good command of the English language, oral and written
- Must possess analytical skills
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently, and communicate on status of daily workload
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to work quickly and maintain outstanding accuracy
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for long periods of time
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and tight deadlines
- Independent judgment to propose project guidelines, follow-through and completion
- Ability to prioritize work, problem solve, and communicate proficiently in English in verbal and written forms
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in the English language, as this is essential to communicating information to supervisors, coworkers and customers in a way that they can understand. Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable manner on various company products/services
- Ability to operate office equipment, phone system and company software
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to work proficiently with database applications
- Ability to make notes from discussions (i.e., company meetings, phone conversations, training, etc.)
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with other managers, co-workers and customers to coordinate activity as well as to prioritize workflow, request assistance if needed and assist others in achieving company goals
- Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from other managers, co-workers and vendors
- Ability to converse verbally and in writing as this job requires frequent communications with customers, sales staff and others
Additional Information
Position open to all US residents legally authorized to work in the US.
Prioritized consideration will be given to local candidates within the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
Full-time position (40-hour work week); 8-hour shift Monday through Friday.
Flexibility to work from home two days a week after training completion.
