Cisco Firepower Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)
Type: Contract- C2C OR W2
Duration: 6+ Months (Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Cisco Voice Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise-level voice and collaboration solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications platforms, VoIP, and enterprise network integration.
Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and Cisco Contact Center solutions.
- Implement and support VoIP, SIP, H.323, and voice gateway technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and voice gateways.
- Manage and optimize QoS policies, dial plans, call routing, and trunking.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patches on Cisco voice infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice/network-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams on integrated solutions.
- Document configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Provide tier-3 support for complex voice/network issues.
- 7 10+ years of experience in Cisco Voice / Unified Communications engineering.
- Strong expertise with CUCM, Unity, UCCX/UCCE, IM & Presence, Jabber/WebEx/Teams.
- Proficiency in VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGoogle Cloud Platform) and troubleshooting tools.
- Hands-on with Cisco ISR/ASR routers, Catalyst/Nexus switches, and voice gateways.
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, QoS, VPNs).
- Experience with Cisco voice security, certificates, and encryption.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Cisco Prime, RTMT, SolarWinds).
- Certifications preferred: CCNP Collaboration, CCIE Voice/Collaboration.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
