Job Summary

W e are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Seed Health Technician to support laboratory testing for the detection and quantification of plant pathogens in vegetable seeds. This role is critical to ensuring seed health through standardized laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent hygiene practices, and a commitment to lab safety and quality.

Job Description

• Perform standardized testing procedures to detect bacteria, viruses, and fungi in vegetable seeds.
• Follow and understand detailed work instructions and laboratory protocols.
  
• Apply aseptic techniques and strict hygiene standards to maintain contamination-free environments.
  
• Accurately record and enter data and test results.
  
• Conduct repetitive lab work such as grinding seeds, dishwashing, and autoclaving materials with a focus on quality.
  
• Identify and report any deviations from established procedures.
  
• Support lab safety and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  
• Participate in miscellaneous lab improvement projects.
  
• Apply fundamental lab and math skills to complete tasks efficiently.

Skills Required

• 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred
• Ability to follow standardized protocols with precision
  
• Strong communication skills
  
• Reliable and collaborative team contributor
  
• Capable of prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining focus

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Biology, or a related field

Additional Requirements

• Sh ift: 7am - 3:30pm
• Work performed in laboratory settings, including growth rooms and chambers
• Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, and repetitive motion
• Frequent lifting of 15–20 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 30–40 lbs.
• Handling of regulated plant pathogens within a restricted facility

Pay Rate

• $22 per hour
