Job Overview

Cross Creek Grounds Management is seeking a dependable and skilled Turf & Ornamental Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a licensed spray technician through VDACS (Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) with at least one year of hands-on experience applying pesticides. This position is essential for maintaining the health and appearance of our clients' landscapes and requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately apply pesticides to turf and ornamental landscapes in compliance with state regulations and company safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of chemical applications, work performed, and weekly schedules.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold.
• Present a clean, professional appearance while on job sites.
• Follow all company policies and environmental safety standards.
• Be available to work occasional Saturdays based on seasonal demand.

Required Qualifications

• VDACS pesticide applicator license (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in pesticide or herbicide application
• High school diploma or GED
• Clean, valid drivers license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of turf and ornamental plant care
• Familiarity with application equipment and calibration techniques
• Ability to identify common pests, weeds, and plant diseases
