SUMMARY:

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate Attorney for their Norfolk office. The successful candidate will have 3 or more years of litigation experience, representing clients in the healthcare industry. Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

RESPONSIBILTIES :

• Manage all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and trial.

• Prepare court pleadings including drafting motions and responses and answering discovery requests.

• Work with medical experts to develop case strategies and understand complex medical issues.

• Research and draft memoranda of law and briefs.

• Participate in pretrial and trial hearings. Prepare attorneys and clients for trials and depositions.

• Participate in preparation of appeal briefs, responses and attorney preparation for oral arguments.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

• 3 or more years of litigation experience required. Medical Malpractice experience preferred.

• Skilled at meeting deadlines under significant time pressure.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client orientation.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work independently.

• Ability to manage time and resources effectively and independently.

• Juris Doctorate degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with an outstanding academic record.

• Admission to the Virginia Bar.

• Must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Virginia.
