Maintenance Field Worker

Abacus is seeking a hardworking and reliable Maintenance Field Worker to join our team. This role is responsible for the overall upkeep of our properties, focusing heavily on professional landscaping and general outdoor maintenance. You will ensure our grounds are safe, functional, and visually appealing throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Landscaping & Lawn Care: Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns; weed and mulch landscape beds; and plant new flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Plant Maintenance: Trim small trees, hedges, and shrubs; prune dead or damaged branches; and monitor plant health for pests or diseases.
- Property Upkeep: Remove litter, trash, and debris from walkways, parking lots, and common areas.
- General Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on outdoor structures like fences, benches, and lighting.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain power tools, including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
- Seasonal Tasks: Assist with seasonal cleanup, leaf removal, and snow/ice removal during winter months.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a similar field maintenance role preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with lawn care equipment and basic knowledge of plant care and pruning techniques.
- Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- License: Valid State Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
