Job Summary
W e are seeking a skilled Machinist who is flexible and able to meet the needs of the business and customers. The ideal candidate will have experience working with expander and compression wheels, ensuring they meet tight tolerances for engineering and customer specifications. Attention to detail, along with the ability to work safely in a high-speed manufacturing environment, is key to success in this role.
Job Description
- Operate and maintain balancing and spin test machines
- Perform sensitive and high-precision machining work
- Review engineering drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
- Support production by alleviating bottlenecks with sensitive parts
- Check output for quality assurance and document or discard defective products
- Perform minor machine maintenance and repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation
- Contribute to team efforts and assist in related tasks as needed
- Rework defective or incomplete materials provided by others
Skills Required
- Experience in manufacturing/assembly machining
- Strong knowledge of machining operations and manufacturing procedures
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent mechanical and coordination skills
- Ability to lift 20-40 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks
- Familiar with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, HSE)
- Must be a team player
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly machining
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with basic tool use
- Solid understanding of metal fabrication, machining operations, and quality procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to build products according to precise specifications
- Knowledge of ISO requirements and quality assurance practices
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to adapt tasks based on production needs
- Comfortable working with and reworking defective materials as needed
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in basic arithmetic
Education
- High School Diploma
Pay Rate
- $23 - $25 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Shi ft: M-F 6am - 2:30pm
- Work will be performed in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required
- Must be able to work at heights up to 10 feet
- Occasional forklift operation required
- Ability to lift materials weighing 20-40 lbs.
