Job DescriptionAs a Security Guard - Armed Government in Fairfax, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and promoting a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help prevent unwanted activity, and delivering outstanding customer service. This armed post requires you to maintain a professional presence while interacting with the public and responding to incidents as they arise. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the government location, including building interiors and perimeters, to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Maintain visibility as a security-related presence and observe for suspicious activity or persons within the assigned government facility.
- Document incidents and complete detailed reports as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
- Follow all weapons handling procedures in accordance with company and client standards.
- Assist in controlling access to restricted areas, verifying credentials, and monitoring entry points.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license as required by local laws and regulations.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
