Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Radiation Therapist
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Radiation Oncology Unit
• Location: North Chesterfield, VA (Richmond metro area)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250–$2310
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday (7:30am–4:00/4:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Volume: 45–55 patients per day on two TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Team Structure: 5 radiation therapists, 2 dosimetrists, 2 physicists, 2–3 RNs, front desk staff, dietitian, social worker, director
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

Radiation Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
• Hands-on experience with TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Proficiency with Align RT (Vision RT) surface guidance and ARIA documentation system
• Advanced skills in DIBH (Deep Inspiration Breath Hold), VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy), SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), and surface guidance procedures
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• At least 1 year of experience in a hospital radiation oncology department

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments using TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Utilize advanced technologies including Align RT, DIBH, VMAT, and SBRT
• Document patient care and treatment plans in ARIA oncology information system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient care and safety
• Maintain high patient satisfaction, contributing to Press Ganey scores of approximately 95%
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and professional dress code
