About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - 2 years of RN experience Description: General Comments: Endoscopy unit has 4 procedure rooms and approximately 25 staff members. Day shift primarily consists of RNs, with scrub tech and scope room techs. Night shift is on-call only. The unit handles approximately 20-30 patients each weekday. Typical equipment includes Olympus scopes and Provation for procedural documentation. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Responsibilities: All RNs are trained to admit patients, circulate and scrub in procedural cases, and recover and discharge patients. Typical Procedures Performed: EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and bronchoscopy. Best Personality Fit: Fast-paced, multi-tasker. Quick learner. Comfortable in frequently changing situations. Team-oriented. Floating Areas: Rare. Dress Code: Hospital-issued scrubs must adhere to the surgical attire policy, with no visible piercings. Weekday and weekend on-call is required for all staff, including PRN.
