Responsibilities

  • Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support to seniors.

  • Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.

  • Medication Management: Assist clients with medication reminders and ensure they adhere to prescribed medication schedules.

  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary requirements and preferences.

  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for the senior.

  • Transportation: Assist with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential outings.

  • Monitoring Health: Observe and report any changes in the senior's health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided and any significant changes in the client's condition.

Caregiver Qualifications:

  • 1 year of CNA/NA/PCA experience preferred
  • Willing to accept new PCAs/CNAs and provide in-home care training.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation required - may need to drive clients in own vehicle. Will be reimbursed for mileage with a clean MVR (motor vehicle record) and an insured vehicle.
  • Must be willing to work in homes with pets. Cats and/or dogs
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally. Must respond to calls/messages in a timely manner
  • Willingness to work some weekends or evenings
  • Must follow agency communication procedures
  • Must be able to assist with standing, walking, transfers, bending, and light lifting (35lbs or less)
  • Must be able to perform personal care, household tasks (light household cleaning, meal prep, mobility assistance, transportation using client or personal vehicle
  • This role requires reliability, accountability, and the ability to show up consistently for clients who depend on care.

Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships. Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (scrapbooking, gardening, games, etc.) Prep meals for your clients to enjoy. Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other daily activities of living. Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
