Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and personable Bartender to provide exceptional beverage service to our members and their guests. As the face of our lounge and dining areas, you will go beyond mixing drinks to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the club’s high standards of hospitality. Success in this role is defined by your ability to anticipate member needs and remember individual preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Member Relations: Greet members by name, remember their favorite orders, and provide personalized, "VIP"- level service.
- Beverage Crafting: Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks—including classic cocktails, craft beers, and fine wines—according to club specifications.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the club’s à la carte menus, daily specials, and upcoming club events to provide recommendations.
- Bar Maintenance: Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up garnishes, polishing glassware, and ensuring the bar area remains spotless and organized throughout the shift.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of liquors, beers, and wines; report low inventory to management and assist with monthly inventory counts.
- Responsible Service: Adhere to all state and local liquor laws by verifying identification and monitoring member consumption to ensure safety.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with servers and the culinary team to ensure seamless service, especially during large-scale club events like banquets or tournaments.
- Certification: Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid alcohol server certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or Smart Serve).
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience, preferably in an upscale or private club setting.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in mixology, wine service, and the use of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8–10 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs (e.g.,changing kegs or moving cases).
