Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Teacher Assistant to support our Lead Teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their growth and well-being.

What You’ll Do

Classroom Support

• Assist with lesson planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized learning environment
• Support daily routines and transitions

Child Engagement & Supervision

• Supervise children during classroom activities and outdoor play
• Foster a nurturing and positive environment
• Support social, emotional, and cognitive development

Individualized Support

• Provide one-on-one attention as needed
• Assist with observing and documenting developmental progress
• Support children with varying needs

Health & Safety

• Ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment at all times
• Assist with handwashing, diapering, and sanitation procedures
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations

Family & Team Collaboration

• Communicate respectfully with families
• Participate in team meetings and training
• Support center-wide events and activities

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Patience, compassion, and a passion for working with children
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Preferred

• Experience in early childhood education or childcare
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field

Certifications (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)

• CPR & First Aid
• Child Abuse Recognition Training
• Medication Administration Training (if applicable)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and engage actively with children throughout the day
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic environment
