Summary

CAVE SPRING UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Weekday Preschool seeks caring, kind, loving individuals to join our staff. Must have a heart for caring for children! Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years old or older. Early childhood education or experience caring for young children is preferred, but not required.

We are seeking caregivers for various shifts for our program that runs Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Positions are from August 7, 2025, through May 28, 2026. We follow Roanoke County Public Schools' calendar for start and end dates, holidays, teacher workdays, closings, and delays. We do not participate in the scheduled three-hour early dismissals.

FBI Fingerprinting and CPS background checks will be performed. A physician-signed staff health report must be on file. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend, sit on the floor, etc.

Duties

Weekday School Co-Teacher responsibilities include ensuring children are always supervised, carrying out provided lesson plans, establishing and following classroom routines, and assisting children with organized activities and experiences, including songs, games, and storytelling using the provided curriculum. They also maintain a neat and orderly classroom, integrate special needs children positively and respectfully, communicate with parents as needed and collaborate with other teachers.

Read to students.
Monitor student behavior, social development, or health.
Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.
Discuss student progress with parents or guardians.
