Third (Nights)Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Critical Care Stepdown Unit - PVSU (Progressive Ventilator Stepdown Unit) Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Applicants! Please ask the recruiter for details. Hours/Shift:

Full Time (36 hr/week), Nights Overview: Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. Department Overview: The PVSU at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is an 16 bed step-down unit, specializing in treatment of patients on mechanical ventilators. Most patients admitted to PVSU come from an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). PVSU focuses on maximizing the rehabilitation while continuing to treat the cause of the illness. This goal is accomplished through intensive physical therapy, respiratory care and mental stimulation.PVSU has a nurse/patient ratio of 3:1 based upon nursing acuity.Click on the lick to learn more about our unit:

Education Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure Registered nursing License (Required) BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience 18 months of relevant RN experience
