Location: Christiansburg, VA

Position Type: (Mon-Fri, 8 AM - 2 PM; hours subject to change)

Compensation: $15.25 - $19.71 per hour

Assignment Length: Contract, 3-6 months approximately

Job Overview:
System One is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our client onsite in Christiansburg, VA. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and functionality of the facility This part-time position is ideal for individuals who are skilled in maintenance services and are committed to creating a safe and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including building maintenance, pipefitting, plumbing, carpentry, and office equipment maintenance and installation.
• Execute additional duties such as painting, trash removal, and general cleaning to maintain a tidy and safe environment.
• Operate various equipment, including forklifts, lift trucks, scissor lifts, drill presses, cut-off saws, and snow removal equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Assist with the equipment calibration program to uphold operational standards.
• Properly identify and handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, including checks on fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems.
• Coordinate with service providers and contractors for facility needs, including building security, snow removal, lawn care, HVAC, and waste management.
• Actively contribute to creating a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to all applicable safety and health regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 year of related experience in maintenance or a similar field.
• Welding experience, formal training, and/or certifications are a plus.
• General knowledge of basic maintenance procedures and safety measures.
• Familiarity with the company’s safety and health policies and programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
