We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance and Accounting Associate to join our team. This role supports both accounting and finance functions, including maintaining financial records, assisting with compliance, payroll processing, and analyzing contract performance. This position is an in-office job located at our HQ in Elkridge, MD.
Responsibilities:- Prepare payroll and accounts payable.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation to support financial activities. i.e. payroll and accounts payable.
- Assist with invoicing and timekeeping to ensure timely and accurate entries.
- Assist in the month-end close activities and reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Update and maintain spreadsheets to support financial reporting and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, ensure payroll accuracy, and provide financial insights.
- Assist in analyzing contract financials, focusing on CDRYL submittals, projected staff hours, revenue, and profit margins.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, DAR, FAR, and other applicable government regulations.
- Candidate must have an Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; however, additional relevant work experience may be accepted in place of a formal degree
- Exhibit a strong attention to detail, analytical acumen, and intellectual curiosity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of accounting principles
- Demonstrate a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel as well as a desire to develop advanced skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
- Ability to adjust quickly and adapt to changing priorities
- 5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience. Prior government contracting experience required.
- Experience with Unanet required
Salary range depending on experience = $60,000 - $85,000
