Job Description

We are currently hiring a Sr. SQL Developer to work onsite in Chesapeake, VA. This individual will support an application modernization effort for a comprehensive software system utilized by the US Navy. This role has an option for a hybrid work schedule following a successful training period.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensures database performance, data integrity, and transactional consistency while collaborating with engineers and business stakeholders to meet evolving needs

• Assist with leading large migration project ensuring all data is collected, reviewed, and transferred correctly and securely

• Ensure proper documentation of database objects, procedures and standards

• Support operational stability by participating in database reviews, testing, and monitoring

Compensation: 50-64/HR

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

Active Secret Clearance

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 4 years of hands-on experience or 8+ years of hands-on related experience leading database migrations

Experience migrating databases with MySQL, SQL, SQL Anywhere, IBM DB2, MariaDB, and or SQL Server

Experience conducting change data capture within front and back-end procedures

Experience developing and deploying CI/CD pipelines

Experience with database design, pulling data with ETL, and deploying into new databases
