ER RN Job Details – Charlottesville, VA

• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend through 01/03/2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department
• Shifts: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00); 36 or 48 hours per week
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 71 beds; average daily census of 165
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted, must be in-hand before start)
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• At least 1 year in a Level I trauma facility or 2 years in a Level II trauma facility
• Pediatric nursing experience required (not limited to pediatric ER)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC may be pending, but required before start)
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Professional references required

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care in a fast-paced trauma center
• Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and other emergent conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
• Float within scope of practice as needed throughout the facility
• Complete orientation and all required training modules
• Comply with all hospital policies, including vaccination and compliance standards
