Position Description
CGI has an immediate need for a Senior AWS Python Developer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. . This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer with strong AWS expertise to support the development and maintenance of financial software applications. This role involves close collaboration with finance teams to translate business needs into scalable, efficient software solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Python-based development, cloud infrastructure, and data processing frameworks, along with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
. Designing, developing, and maintaining financial software applications.
. Collaborating with finance and internal teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
. Building and integrating APIs and cloud-native services.
. Writing clean, efficient, and testable code using modern Python frameworks.
. Ensuring software responsiveness, reliability, and performance.
. Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to continuous improvement.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

. Advanced Python development (Pandas, PySpark, PyTest)
. Experience with Flask, Django, or FastAPI
. Strong AWS experience: Lambda, S3, Step Functions, Glue, EC2, ECS, CloudFormation, RDS, CloudWatch, Redshift
. Boto3 and AWS CLI proficiency
. Docker and Terraform usage
. REST API development and integration
. SQL and database interactions (relational, block, and file storage)
. Git, Jira, Confluence
. Agile development practices
. Shell scripting
. Unit testing and application builds
. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) are a plus.
. 8–10 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Python and AWS.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $154,300.00.
